This year for Mother's Day we went for a picnic at Macdonald Park and then went for a drive to find a tulip field. It was a great day that was relaxing and good to be together as a family.

Cutie Pie
While we were in Gem for Kim's grad, I took some pictures of Arinn with the cows. When Carathy was the same age as Arinn is now, I took a few pictures of her doing the same thing and I thought it would be neat to do some more.
Mom giving Arinn some cow etiquette lessons
Trying to ease her into the process of standing there by herself.

The picture on the left is Arinn and the one on the right is Carathy . See any similarities?!?
I am adding a few more pictures of Arinn and Dad playing together.
I thought they were quite cute.
This is Arinn's way of helping me pack up to come home. She was sitting in the suitcase and thought it was quite funny that she was in my way. Figures.
Kim's Nursing Graduation
I had the priviledge of flying to Calgary with Arinn to attend my sisters' grad. Kim graduated from Prairie Bible Institute as an LPN and I am so proud of her. She has worked very hard to get to where she is today and I wanted to be there for her special day.
Her day started with a commencement ceremony in the afternoon for everyone in the school and then in the evening was the pinning ceremony for the members of the LPN graduating class.

During the processional the graduates walked into the room carrying lanterns as a tribute to Florence Nightengale.

The Chilliwack Lightning Bolts
Carathy is part of a baseball team this year. We told her she could choose one sport and baseball was it. Because she had never played an actual game of baseball before, we started her in the free baseball clinics at the Cheam Center for 6 weeks in February and March. Now she is part of the Chilliwack Minor Fastpitch League and she loves it. She has a great coach and is starting to understand the concept of the game. We have more pictures than what are on here but they are unfortunately all at mom and dad's so I will add them sometime in the future.

Gem Easter Celebration
We got to travel to Gem for Easter as well, this year. We had a great time visiting family and meeting my cousins' son, Owen. We got a good visit in with Grandma, too and I think she had fun spending time with some of her great-grandchildren. On the way home, we realized how much God looks out for us as we could have had a very serious accident but He provided a way for us to make it to safety.
Driediger Easter
For our Easter celebration with the Driediger family, we tried to think of something fun to do with the kids that would still be meaningful. We put our heads together and came up with a pretty neat idea that worked out amazingly well. We took the Easter story verses and matched it up with little tokens that symbolized what that part of the story was talking about. For example, we used a little piece of rose branch for the crown of thorns, a piece of burlap for the material that was used to wrap Jesus' body, a small pebble for the rock in front of the tomb, etc. Each verse went into a plastic egg with a number on it and the corresponding token went into an egg with the same number on it. Then we hid the eggs in the yard. The kids had to find all the eggs and then we sat down and read the Easter story and looked at the tokens. It was a really great way for the kids to understand the story. After the whole story was read, we let the kids find their Easter goodie baskets that were hidden in a different part of the yard. It turned out to be a great day!
