Welcome to Crocodile Dock!

For VBS this year, I was in charge of decorating. I had a lot of fun being creative and spent many, many, many hours drawing, painting, gluing, coloring and cutting out with a lot of help from a lot of people. These are some pictures detailing some of the things I did for that week.
The welcome sign that was in the entrance welcoming everyone to Crocodile Dock. I colored that sign with sharpies. Many hours of sharpie fun!

One of the many sign posts that my wonderful hubby made.

The main hallway leading to the bible study area, the preschool room and the craft room.

An example of the trees that lined that hallway.

A sample of the MANY cattails that I traced, painted, and cut out. I can say that my helper wasn't very pleased with me when it came time to put them up on the wall - were you, Hilary?!?

This was the room that lead up to the bible study room (the door in the middle of the picture). In the bible study room I had drawn a mural of the landscape of Mount Horab (where most of the stories took place) and then everyday, the leaders changed the props inside the room to fit what they were teaching about that day. It worked out really well. In this picture, the kids had to climb up the mountain to get to where the story was.

Mount Horab

The sign in the hallway leading to the preschool room. There are little animated drawings of Rocky that leads to the door of the "playhouse."

The mural leading to upstairs.

One of the paper mache crocs that Hilary and I spent countless hours on. Well worth the effort - well, I think so at least.

Lumpy the Croc.

The entrance to our "snack shack"

Where we put our offering. The pool was actually filled with water and the first morning of VBS some of the leaders arrived there to a floor flooded with water. Apparently the swimming pool we borrowed had a leak.

The main stage. Shack, dock and pilings courtesy of my hubby again.

With the theme being Crocodile Dock, we had the reptile guy come in and show us some animals. Included in that was this 190 lb python. Quite entertaining.

Hey boss, don't get so excited. I tried for several hours yesterday to add more posts but the server wouldn't let me upload any more pictures. Fear not....because I am trying again today.

It looks so cool. It would have been neat to actually see it in person. I bet the kids really enjoyed it. Oh and Kim.... I am sure you wouldn't hold it because you can't even get close to Rusty!!
